Dance has been a big part of Janae's life. Growing up in a musical family, Janae started singing and dancing at the early age of two and instantly fell in love with performing. Her first dance classes, in clogging and jazz, were taught by her aunt whose passion for movement and choreography was infectious. Janae continued taking dance classes through her elementary years, was a lead in Granite High’s musical (Brigitta in The Sound of Music) in her 5th grade year, and upon entering junior high was the only 7th grader to make dance company. Since then Janae has been on performing dance companies from junior high all the way through college holding almost every officer position from President in 9th grade to Vice President at Snow College.
Janae has enjoyed learning the choreography of others as well as teaching her own. Janae's passion and talent for choreography lead her to start her own dance business while still in high school. This business took a hiatus during her years at Snow College and the University of Utah where Janae received a Bachelors in Social Work, and then resumed teaching in 2012. Janae has enjoyed teaching the wonderful art of dance to both girls and boys, ages 2-18. There is something so rewarding in helping a student's confidence grow as they master movement and Janae hopes to continue doing so for many years to come.
