Ballet - Pointe
Juliana Vorkink Martin began her ballet training as a shy three year-old. After realizing that crying through class wasn’t nearly as fun as dancing, she fell in love with ballet. Julianna practically grew up in a ballet studio and performed frequently. Despite additional training in modern and jazz, her heart has always belonged to ballet. Juliana not only illustrates to all of her students why ballet is mandatory to be a well-rounded dancer, but that it’s the most beautiful style of dance; she might be slightly biased.
Ms. Martin graduated from the University of Utah in 2012 with a BFA in ballet with emphasis in teaching and character dance, as well as a Minor in Business. She has choreographed numerous contemporary ballet pieces and has been honored to have these works selected for student choreography showcases. Her latest passion is character dance and she has performed locally and internationally with the University’s regional company, Character Dance Ensemble. She represented the University and performed in Poland and Ukraine in 2012.
Juliana is a graduate of the American Ballet Theater’s prestigious National Training Curriculum program and received her certification in 2012. She aspires to teach her students not only how to be perfect technicians and beautiful artists, but how to improve themselves as individuals; we are people first and dancers second.
