Laura Brick is originally from Tampa, Fl. She began her training at the age of 3. Laura received her primary training from Brandon School of Dance Arts and Howard W. Blake High School For The Performing Arts. Most recently, Laura just finished her first year with Odyssey Dance Theatre. During this time, she also worked with Shaun Boyle and performed in Arizona in a work said to be “the best work of the show”. Laura attended The University of Utah and received a BFA in modern dance as well as a minor in psychology. During this time, she attended numerous summer programs such as; Northwest Dance Project’s LAUNCH, American Dance Festival, Hubbard Street, Alonzo King’s LINES and Ballet West. She also had the great pleasure of performing in works choreographed by Twyla Tharp, Merce Cunningham, Andrea Miller, Eric Handman, and Sharee Lane. In the summer of 2014, Laura was invited to perform in Eric Handman’s work “Disappearing Days” at the Kennedy Center. While at The U, Laura had the privilege of participating in several foreign exchange and special teaching experiences. These opportunities include Berlin State Ballet School, Panama Movement Exchange, and a new program entitled Jumpstart that consisted of teaching dance to children with Down Syndrome. Laura currently guest teaches at West High School and dances for Odyssey Dance Theatre. She is always excited for any new performing,teaching, and choreographing opportunites.
