About Nicole

Nicole Maughan

Preschool Classes (Ballet, Tap/Jazz)

Nicole Maughan grew up in Holladay, Utah, and has over 16 years of dance training in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and ballroom. Most of her technical training is with ballet and various productions in Utah, including Ballet West's "The Nutcracker." She developed a love for the stage when she sang and danced with a performing arts studio for 10 years and toured throughout England, Chicago, Florida, Washington D.C and California. Nicole was a member of her High School Drill Team for 3 years, and also served as the Dance Company captain and choreographer. She continued her education first at Utah Valley University where she was on the Ballroom Dance Team, and then at Brigham Young University where she competed in Ballroom and Country Dance, winning various medals. She graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a Minor in Health Science, then married her husband shortly after. As a mother of 3 little girls and a baby boy, she absolutely loves to teach children! Her goal is to instill a love for dance in her students as well as build confidence. For the past few years, Nicole's classes were in the top 2 dances of UDA's "People's Choice Awards" for outstanding, creative and theme supporting choreography, and most recently her ballet dance was awarded 1st place in the 2016 recital, "That's a First!" She is so grateful to be part of the Utah Dance Artists Faculty!
