Rachelle

Classical Ballet

Rachelle had the majority of her training at Utah Dance Artists, beginning when the studio first opened in 2001. She trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, modern, and tap. She was trained to be a teacher by Brooke Maxwell for 4 years as she assisted Ms. Maxwell in the classroom. In high school, Rachelle was selected to be Taylorsville High School’s Sterling Scholar in Dance and went on to be a state finalist.

Rachelle received a degree in Dance with an emphasis in ballet from Brigham Young University. She had the opportunity to be a guest performer with BYU’s Theatre Ballet. She was also a member of BYU’s DancEnsemble. While on DancEnsemble, she was able to work with Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig while performing their “Ordinary Festivals”, which was the only time this piece has ever been performed by a college performing group. As an undergraduate, Rachelle was asked to teach ballet at BYU. She was also a teacher assistant for the Dance History course. She choreographed a piece that was selected to be performed for several nights at the Beijing Dance Academy.

Rachelle has been a teacher, choreographer and judge throughout the state of Utah. She has been asked to start ballet programs for various studios around the state and loves teaching at her home away from home, UDA!
