Add-On Program for Dancers in 7th - 12th Grades

The Ballroom Competitive Program is an optional, add-on program for dancers in 7th – 12th grades who wish to compete in ballroom in the styles such as Cha Cha and East Coast Swing. Dancers intensify their performance study with additional experience on stage through a competition environment.

Participating dancers are grouped according to ability level with age consideration. As this program grows, we will be learning more styles in both American and International styles. Competition helps dancers with their technique as well as their performance skills. Interested dancers should register for auditions with a partner. If you need a partner, you may indicate this on your audition form and if one is available, you will be contacted.

A minimum of 8 dancers are required to create a Ballroom Competition Team.

YEARLY PROGRAM FEE: $360

Amortized over 9 months: $40 monthly (*paid on the 1st of the month from September - May)

This fee covers two local competition entry fees, competition costume, manager and director fees. Rehearsals required from September 2023 - June 2024.

The program fee does not cover UDA Ballroom jacket, UDA Garment bag & Duffel Bag, Make-up, Ballroom Shoes & tights/fishnets. Dress code practice attire.

Auditions – Mandatory Four Step Process


  • 1. Fill out and submit the online audition form - one form for each partner.

  • 2. Submit a $30 audition fee

Additional Information
Classes - Tuition - Fees - Etc

  • Dancers must add the required, additional classes to their weekly schedule:
    • Ballroom Team Competition Rehearsal - 1.5 hours
    • Ballroom Technique Class - 1 hour
  • This equates to 2.5 minimum hours per week.
  • The cost of monthly tuition is figured by using the UDA Tuition Scale
  • Additional Saturday rehearsals may be added to the schedule during competition season
  • Ballroom Team Jacket: $70 - Charged on September 1, 2023 with September tuition. New team jackets will be purchased every three years and this will be year #2.
  • Garment Bag: $37
  • Duffel Bag: $38
